Custody Telugu Movie Review

Story of Custody

The story of “Custody” is around Constable Shiva, who is played by Naga Chaitanya, and how he falls madly in love with Revathi, who is played by Krithi Shetty, despite the fact that her parents do not approve of their relationship. The plot takes an unexpected turn when Shiva, who is played by Arvind Swami, mistakenly arrests the gangster Raju, who is accompanied by the CBI officer George. In spite of the significant political support that Raju enjoys, Shiva learns that he must appear before a court in Bengaluru. Shiva, who is steadfast in his commitment to defend justice, sets off on a perilous journey and invites Revathi to accompany him on his mission.

Positive Aspects of Custody

Naga Chaitanya gives a performance that is compelling in his role as a character who is an underdog, exhibiting sincerity in his portrayal of the role. Arvind Swami is an excellent pick for the part of Raju, and there are some particularly compelling exchanges between the film’s key characters that stand out. Krithi Shetty also offers a performance that is worth mentioning, and Goparaju Ramana and Vennela Kishore provide some much-needed comic relief with their hilarious antics. After the introduction of Arvind Swami’s character in the first half of the movie, the momentum of the movie begins to pick up.

Negative Aspects of Custody

The second half of the movie is a letdown, as it is devoid of energy and has a really unremarkable feel to it. Although Venkat Prabhu is well-known for writing intriguing screenplays, this film’s storyline and execution are both lacking. The action sequences fall short of making a significant effect, particularly in the second half of the movie. Some of the characters, like Priyamani, are presented poorly, while others, like Sarath Kumar’s position, don’t offer anything new to the story. The flashback segment is nothing special, and the songs leave a lot to be desired in terms of quality. Despite the presence of well-known composers, the music does not live up to its potential. The poor editing, particularly in the second half of the movie, and the lackluster visual effects work contribute to the sensation that the movie is too long.

Technical Aspects:

The work that SR Kathir did behind the camera is lauded for its high quality. However, both the director and the screenplay that Venkat Prabhu has written for the film aren’t very good, particularly the second half. When considering Venkat Prabhu’s previous work, it is disappointing that the film does not deliver the moments that promise to keep viewers on the edge of their seats.

Verdict:

In conclusion, “Custody” is successful in capturing the audience’s attention during specific scenes, but the film’s execution as a whole is lacking. Even if Naga Chaitanya and Arvind Swami turn in notable performances, the storyline and overall execution of the film are not very strong. Before seeing the movie, those who are fans of Venkat Prabhu or Naga Chaitanya should adjust their expectations accordingly
